REBUTTAL TO: “But my house is clean and I don’t see mold!”
You might be surprised to learn that even the most picture perfect homes can have mold lurking in wall and ceiling cavities, attics, basements, crawlspaces, HVACs, and under flooring - completely hidden from plain sight.
In fact, it is more common for mold riddled buildings to have hidden mold rather than mold out in the open where it’s super obvious. This is why mold inspectors and indoor environmental professionals exist!
And even if you stay on top of cleaning every week and are labeled as a “clean freak”, this doesn’t mean that mold can’t start growing in your wall cavities from a slow pipe leak or air penetration issue that you aren’t even aware of. There are, of course, multiple other reasons for mold growth in a building; those are just two examples.
Another thing - a lot of people confuse mold for “just dust”. So what may appear as '“just dust” in your HVAC or ductwork might actually be mold too. Mold spores love relocating to dust because dust is such a great food source for mold.
